patient advocacy
Building on a volunteer and professional experiences in LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS advocacy, Christian began his career in patient advocacy following the tragic death of his mother than from a Clostridium difficile infection in 2010. Over the past 7 years, Christian has led the Peggy Lillis Foundation to become the preeminent national organization combating C. diff infections.
Through PLF, Christian has become a nationally recognized leader on protecting patients from healthcare associated infections, building partnerships between patients and healthcare leaders, advocacy messaging, and grassroots patient and caregiver organizing. He participated in the 2015 White House Forum on Antibiotic Stewardship, and represented patients and caregivers at public meetings of the President's Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria.
As a consultant, Christian has advised leading biotech companies, developed recruitment strategies for clinical trials and market research studies, produced the first C. diff public service announcement, and coaching patients and caregivers on effective advocacy tactics. He is available to be a thought partner and strategic adviser to patient advocacy groups, professional societies and industry.
